How long do natural makeup products last? Check the labels. Usually though not more than 6 months. This is because they are free of nasty preventives like parabens.
What can I do so that my makeup doesn't go bad? Never put your fingers in your products. Use a small spatula. Don't ever share your cosmetics. Don't use saliva or water to moisten brushes. Clean brushes weekly with a mild detergent (100% natural of course). Wash your hands before applying makeup products.
Are makeup products screened by the FDA? Makeup products and their ingredients are not subject to FDA regulation prior to their release into the market. If a product already on sale is found to violate Federal Food, Drug, and Cosmetic Act (FD&C Act) and Fair Packaging and Labeling Act (FPLA) then the FDA may start taking action against this violation.
Can I go to bed without removing natural makeup? All makeup should be removed before going to bed. Of course because it is natural it is less likely to irritate your skin. So remove it with virgin coconut oil. This will not only remove the makeup but also moisturize your skin as well.
Is there lead in lipstick? Some recent studies have shown that there can be lead in lipstick especially ones with a red pigment. The results have shown there can be as little as 0.3ppm to 0.65ppm. That may not be enough you would think to worry about, but imagine how many times you apply lipstick! Lead is dangerous because it's a heavy metal and binds to key components in the respiratory chain rather than being digested. It sticks around and build up prevents the production of ATP (adenosine tri phosphate) which is the basic energy source all living things need in order to work.
